KARACHI: Zafar Siddiqui passes away

KARACHI, June 1: Senior broadcaster of Radio Pakistan Zafar Siddiqui, who died last night after a protracted illness, was buried at the Defence graveyard after Zohr prayers on Sunday. He was 74.

His funeral was largely attended besides relatives by radio artists, broadcasters and journalists. His soyem will be held on Tuesday after Asr prayers at his residence 49/2 Street 19, Khayaban-i-Mujahid, Phase V, DHA.

He leaves his wife and a son Amir Zia, who is a journalist.

Zafar Siddiqui, who was one of the senior-most broadcasters, had also worked in TV plays, particularly in “Khuda Ki Basti” in which his role of a quack doctor was very popular.
