Khurram Agha retains top spot


KARACHI, May 31: Khurram Agha maintained his top slot for the past 18 months despite losing to Saleh Muhammad in the final of Style National Ranking Snooker Championship which concluded on Friday.

Saleh, who is considered most gifted player after Muhammad Yousuf, but yet to prove his metal at the international level and specially in Asian and world championship.

However, a superb win on last Friday, lifted Saleh Muhammad to second position behind Khurram, relegating former world champion Muhammad Yousuf to third spot.

Record 12-time national reigning champion Yousuf lost to eventual winner in the semifinal.

Naveen Perwani also kept his fourth spot intact despite losing in the quarterfinals.

Atiq Latif Bakhsh son of late legendary Latif Amir Bakhsh improved one place in ranking raising himself to 5th from sixth and similarly Imran Shahzad climbed to 6th from 7th position.

Following are the top six. 1. Khurram Agha (KPT) 2. Saleh Muhammad (NWFP) 3. Muhammad Yousuf (KPT) 4. Naveen Perwani (Sindh) 5. Atiq Latif Bakhsh (KPT) 6. Imran Shahzad (Punjab).—APP
