Gandhara students Continue boycott

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, May 31: Medical students of Gandhara University continued their boycott of classes for the second consecutive day against the non-recognition of their colleges by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

More than 800 students of the Kabir Medical College and Sardar Begum College of Dentistry and Hospital, are protesting against the non-recognition of their colleges by the Pakistan Medical and Dental College.

The students have also locked the colleges and have warned of indefinite boycott of classes till the PMDC accords recognition to their colleges.

“The students of final years are the worst sufferers as they have no future after completion of study, because the PMDC would not recognise their degrees, “ said one student. He added that the students paid million of rupees in admission fee and there was an increase of 15 per cent in the fee, but the college lacked facilities.
