KARACHI, May 21: PTCL has changed the NWD codes and prefixes of Damba and Gadap telephone exchanges in order to facilitate the people and make the two exchanges part of Karachi Multi Exchange Area.

According to a PTCL release, issued on Wednesday, the change would come into effect from the midnight between May 31 and June 1.

The existing code ‘02073’ and prefix ‘510’ of Damba Exchange will stand changed into code ‘021’ and prefix ‘4415’. Likewise, the existing code ‘02075’ and prefix ‘401’ of Gadap Exchange will stand changed into code ‘021’ and prefix ‘4410’. The remaining numbers of telephones will remain the same.

RETRENCHMENT: The Member Administration of PTCL, Raja Iftikhar, has said that no daily-wage workers of the company would be sacked.

Talking to a delegation of PTCL’s PML-Q Labour Wing at his office on Wednesday, Mr Iftikhar said that the daily-wage workers of the department and PTCL Foundation would be accommodated in the organization and regularized soon.—APP
