House tax raised
RAWALPINDI, May 20: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board has increased the annual house tax for the year 2002-2003 by 500 per cent, official sources said here on Tuesday. The increase has been approved from July 1999, the sources added.
The cantonment area residents, who were paying Rs1,000 tax annually have been asked to pay Rs6000 annually without any justification and without the provision of any facility to them.
The annual values of the residential properties have been increased in a bid to rationalize the annual tax, the official sources added.—APP
