KARACHI: Ibad sees better law and order in Sindh

KARACHI, May 20: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad on Tuesday said that the government had taken important steps regarding maintenance of law and order in the province, adding that the situation had considerably improved, specially in Karachi.

The steps, he said, included eliminating various gangs of criminals, adding that the improvement of the law and order in Karachi had been acknowledged at the national and international levels.

The governor said that representatives of the various foreign delegations, including that of the WB, and foreign investors had expressed their satisfaction in this regard, adding that they had described the situation as being conducive for investment and industrial growth.

Stressing the need for greater participation of the people, Mr Ibad hoped that leaders of political parties would help the government. He said that unnecessary criticism would only strengthen the hands of the criminal and anti-state elements.—APP
