KARACHI, May 13: Four ships carrying containers and steel are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to a KPT activity report.
Berthing activity at the wharves picked up followed by steady arrivals of the foreign flag vessels. Five ships, Kota Waris, Cape Negro and Tai He, to unload and load containers, Gulf Lion to offload oil and Apsheron to load naptha were berthed after the departure of two.
The ships which departed after loading export tonnage included Kota Waris and Cape Negro while Banglar Makooh, Ta He, Gulf Lion, Victoria and Apsheron are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 51,001 tons comprising 12,127 tons of export cargo including 1,586 tons of rice and 38,874 tons of import cargo was handled.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: Hyundai Future, PONL Mahe and Al-Mariyah with containers and Vip Ginia with 6,000 tons of steel.
Port Qasim
KARACHI, May 13: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim where two vessels MV Dorthe Olden Drof and City of Edinburgh took berths at multi-purpose terminal and Qasim International Container Terminal respectively.
Two more vessels carrying containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of the port during the same period.
Four berths remained busy with ships loading and offloading containers and general cargo and wheat and furnace oil.
A cargo volume of 37947 tons were handled during the report period. This included 31215 tons of import cargo and 6732 tons of export cargo including 1337 tons containerized cargo.
Two vessels MV Saudi Tabuk and Hope-1 are currently at outer anchorage of the port. MV Saudi Tabuk is expected to take berth at Qasim International Container Terminal on Tuesday.
