ISLAMABAD, May 12: Mansoor Zaman and Shahid Zaman who are to compete in this month’s Qatar Open Squash Championship are set to leave on May 15.

The Open that offers a prize purse of $120,000 was originally slated for last March but had to been postponed because of the US-led war in Iraq.

Both players are being sponsored by the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) for the May 19-25 tournament that has a 32-man draw.

Meanwhile, the PSF plans to hold trials for players in preparation for this October’s World Team Championship after its executive committee meets on May 19 in Rawal-pindi.

The dates for the trials and the camp that would follow are to be finalised in that meeting.

Between 12 to 14 players who would appear in the selection trials, eight would be chosen for a camp that would run for over four months, either in Islamabad or Abbottabad.

The World Team Championship is to be held in Vienna, Austria.
