KARACHI: Four killed in road accident

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 12: Four persons died in a road traffic accident in Shershah late Sunday night.

Police said at least four persons were returning home from a late night film show in a nearby cinema when an unknown vehicle crushed the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in near Miran Naka Shershah.

Police said the unknown errant vehicle, probably a dumper truck, escaped following the accident. Police said three victims — Dilnawaz, Khalid Mahmood, Shaukat and Kamran — died on the spot.

The fourth victim, Arshad, suffered serious injuries in the accident.

The injured and the dead were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

In another accident, a conductor died when his bus overturned near the Malir Sessions Courts on Sharea Faisal late Sunday night.

Police said the conductor identified as Latif, 35, was seriously injured in the accident.

He was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
