By A Reporter

ISLAMABAD, May 5: A high level meeting on Monday reviewed and finalized security and traffic arrangements for Eid-i-Milad- un-Nabi procession in the federal capital.

Officials from police, district administration, Capital Development Authority as well as Ulema, including eight members of Markazi Milad Committee, attended the meeting presided over by Deputy Commissioner Tariq Mahmmod Khan.

Assistant Superintendent Police (City) Mr Javed briefed the participants on the security and traffic plan, says a press release issued from DC office.

Eid-i-Milad, a religious festival held in connection with the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (Peace be upon him), will be celebrated on May 15. The festival is celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm and fervour, large processions are held on the occasion.

The meeting decided that the procession route would remain the same as that of the previous year. The main procession will start from Police Ground G-7 and culminate at Darbar at Aabpara between Zohar and Asar prayers.

The route will be decorated with flags. It was also decided that loud speakers would be used strictly as per relevant rules and no display of provocative posters and hand bills be allowed.

An ambulance with doctors and paramedics will accompany the procession. Illumination of shrines of Hazrat Bari Imam and Sakhi Mahmood Badshah was also decided. The ICT police were asked to ensure cleaning and sweeping of procession routes.
