KARACHI: US designs toward us exposed, says Qazi

KARACHI, May 1: Central parliamentary leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, has said the nation needs to be prepared to foil the evil designs of USA, which have been exposed by the arrival of United Nations Inspector in the country and ban on Hizbul Mujahideen.

speaking at a day-long meeting of Nazims and Naib Nazims belonging to Jamaat-i-Islami, here at Masjid Rizwan, on Thursday he said Pakistan was being accused of supporting North Korea in its missile technology and nuclear programme and of helping cross-border terrorism, which indicated towards the dangers the country was going to face, he observed.

“American inclination towards India is not something hidden, which has encouraged India to call Kashmir as its “Atoot Ang,” he viewed and added: “There is no solution to Kashmir dispute other than plebiscite according to the UN resolutions.”

He defended the Hizbul Mujahideen, saying it was the representative organization of the Kashmiri Muslims, which came into being against unjust Indian occupation of the territory.

Talking about the Legal Framework Order, he said the MMA did not want an impasse on the issue, rather it adopted the policy of “give and take”.

He said the MMA wanted to ensure supremacy of the Parliament and complete restoration of the 1973 Constitution.

About the Iraq issue he said the Muslims there had refused to bow before Americans and resisted the occupation by allied forces, which had encouraged other Muslim states to resist US designs.

Talking of the MMA government’s performance in the NWFP he said the people of the province were feeling a positive change. “NWFP government has announced to provide free education and free medical facilities. VIP culture has been eliminated as ministers and MPAs of the MMA remain among the general people,” he added.

He claimed that the MMA was the biggest political force in the country and people had faith in it.—PPI
