LAHORE, April 20: Odds-on favourite chestnut filly, Laser Lass, added another victory to her credit landing the feature event run over 1400 metres at the Racecourse on Sunday.

Laser Lass ridden by jockey Salahuddin II came from last to win covering a long way and overtook front-running Dock Lands Diva to pull away for a three-fourth of a length win.

Perfect Timing finished third, a length further behind while Naseeb completed the frame, three-and-a-half lengths further behind. In all, only seven ran for this fifth event of the day. The winner clocked one minute 26 4/5 seconds over the distance.

Both Laser Lass and Dock Land Diva are owned by Khawaja M. Arif. The winner is trained by Haji Ghulam Sarwar.

Fancied bay filly Dare To Dream won the fourth and supporting event after a fine front-running display. Ridden by riding boy Tehseen Hussain she beat Guys And Dolls by about two lengths. Tehseen Hussain drove the winner up on the inside while jockey Aamar Parvez on Guys And Dolls swerved wide in the middle of the track in the straight. Red Rock and Baker’s Inn completed the frame among eight runners.

Jockey Shahid Rehman gave a scintillating display of horsemanship on Waseem’s Love who won the opener beating King’s Best narrowly on the finishing post. King’s Love had been leading throughout the 1000 metres race and at one stage he looked a probable winner.

But Shahid Rehman came charging Waseem ‘s Love and grabbed win to the great surprise of race-fans. Had there been any other rider than Khalil Vicky on King’s Best the result would have been different.

Both the first and second placed in this race belonged to one owner, Munir Dar, who earlier spent much oh his time in telling race-goers that his charges do not have a chance at all. It seems they ran against owner’s wishes.

Only two firm favourites, Laser Lass and Dare to Dream, obliged the favourite backers in a card of six races.
