RICE MILLS: The general body meeting of the Sindh- Balochistan Rice Millers and Traders Association has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, and feared that the rice industry will collapse if it deteriorated any further.
Mir Mohammed Shaikh, spokesman for the association told this correspondent on Sunday that the meeting deplored the rising incidents of violence, including kidnappings and killings, against the rice millers, saying that lobbing of rockets on mills in the Kashmor area had not only complicated the situation but had also cast a negative impact on the rice trade.
Strict measures, he said, were needed to save the industry from further harm, adding the situation demanded urgent attention of the law enforcement authorities.
