KARACHI: PCSIR men appeal against shifting

KARACHI, March 29: The shifting of the PCSIR head office from Karachi to Islamabad will have a negative impact on the organisation and its employees, according to a joint appeal filed by 97 employees of the PCSIR addressed to the secretary science and technology.

It says most of the employees who are now under transfer are nearing retirement either due to length of service or superannuation and the decision to shift the head quarter of the PCSIR from the industrial city of Karachi as an administrative measure will have a negative impact on the working and performance of the organization.

The appeals adds that most of the employees have been raised in Karachi and have strong family roots here, and dislodging of their families will entail great mental agony not only for the employees but for their families as well.

“Our children are studying in schools in Karachi, some are appearing in SSC exams while others are to take their exams next year and enbloc transfer of staff would create difficulties for them. Some of the employees have to look after their aged parents,” the joint appeal says requesting the high ups to re-consider the decision of shifting the PCSIR head quarter from Karachi.—APP
