ISLAMABAD, March 28: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-i-Azam (PML-Q) will collect relief goods including medicines from all over the country to forward these to Iraqi people who are sufferings due to US-led attack.
Stating this at a news conference at PML house, party’s secretary-general Salim Saifullah Khan said the world would face worst negative affects of the war, which was strongly opposed by France, Germany, Russia and China.
He justified the stand taken by Prime Minister Jamali on US- led attack on Iraq and rejected the opposition’s criticism saying “should the government declare war on America”.
Salim Saifullah rejected the impression created by some news reports suggesting that differences had surfaced between the ruling party leadership and the government.
To a query, the PML-Q leader said prime minister alone was competent to select persons for expansion of his cabinet.
He was of the view that no ruler in the past had taken such a strong stand on Kashmir and other international issues.
The secretary-general strongly criticised elements in the NWFP government, who were trying to reverse local government system which was running successfully.
He admitted that the NWFP was under represented in the federal government and vowed to talk to the prime minister for resolving this issue.
Answering a question, he said decision of separating official and party offices was not yet reversed but its implementation had been delayed for other reasons.
