Kasuri says PM’s visit successful

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, March 27: Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri on Thursday termed the visit of Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali to China successful saying that Beijing had once again proved itself to be Islamabad’s best friend.

Talking to reporters at the Parliament House, he said that Mr Jamali was the first foreign delegate to visit China after formation of a new government there, and the visit had further strengthened relations between the two countries.

To a question that why he was not included in the delegation, Mr Kasuri said that he and prime minister could not go to any foreign country together.

The minister was reluctant to give reply to a question that why Mr Jamali’s visit to the US was put off. “You know all that why the visit was shelved,” he said.

However, he rejected the impression that the US had directed the prime minister to postpone his visit.
