ISLAMABAD, March 21: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has dropped its plan to recruit some 4,500 fresh employees on vacant posts, a source told Dawn.
The source said the decision in this respect was made on the instruction of the interior ministry.
He said personal secretary of the interior minister on Friday met the CDA chairman and conveyed him a massage of the minister to withdraw the plan.
He said to fill the vacant posts, over 40,000 forms, costing Rs03 each, had been sold by the CDA.
The source said almost all directorates of the CDA were facing shortage of staff, as no induction had been made in the Authority since 1992.
The decision regarding withdrawal of new appointments would be a great disappointment for those, who had applied for jobs in the CDA some five months ago.
RESHUFFLE: Meanwhile, a large-scale reshuffle was made in the CDA on Friday under which 14 officials were transferred.
The director personnel, Abdul Sattar Sheikh, a DMG official in BS-19, had been given move-over in BS-20.
An officer of finance, Abdul Ghaffar Chaudhry, working in BS-19, has been appointed as deputy financial advisor till May 2, 2003.
An assistant administration officer, Abdul Hamid, has been transferred as assistant director in personnel directorate on current charge. Earlier, he was in planning wing.
However, an assistant administration officer, Muhammad Hussain, has been given current charge as assistant administration officer.
Ten account officers were also transferred, as Attaullah was transferred to DG services office from directorate of municipal administration.
Ms Khalida Perveen has been transfered to Capital Hospital from DMA, Ashiq Ali has been transferred to environment wing from Capital Hospital, Inayat Ali has been sent to sector G-6 redevelopment project from audit and accounts, Abdul Haq to services wing from audit and accounts, Noorul Amin to pay audit and accounts section from audit and accounts, Raja Nisar Ahmed to works directorate from audit and accounts, Muhammad Azhar to DPS directorate from audit and accounts and Miskeen Shah Kazmi to audit and accounts from finance wing.
