Trade zone to be set up in Karachi

KABUL, March 16: Pakistan is to establish a special trade zone in Karachi to allow swift transit of goods to Afghanistan and boost trade ties, Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul said on Sunday. Ambassador Rustam Shah Mohmand said the move would help speed up the reconstruction of Afghanistan.

“We have decided to create special facilities for incoming Afghan goods meant for reconstruction at Karachi.

“Afghanistan being a landlocked country, we believe the special facilities which are being created in Karachi will be utilized by the country importing the goods for the reconstruction of Afghanistan itself,” he said.—AFP
