KARACHI: Reckless driving claims two lives

KARACHI, March 15: Two men died in road accidents in the city on Friday.

A beggar was run over by an unknown vehicle on Sharea Faisal near Hotel Mehran. He was rushed to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. He was identified as Ghulam Rasool.

The body has been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification.

A man, Anwar, aged 36, was hit by a minibus near Sadar Mor in Mominabad. He died on the spot. The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

Witnesses told the police that Anwar was run over by a minibus of route X-23, but they failed to notice the registration number of the vehicle.

DIES: A man died when the pistol he was examining went off in Ferozabad on Friday night.

The police said that Imran Baloch had gone to see a friend, Dr Riaz, at his house on Khalid Bin Waleed Road in Ferozabad police limits. Imran was examining a pistol when it went off and a bullet pierced through his body.

He was rushed to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
