KARACHI: Young man shot dead in Gulshan

KARACHI, March 13: A young man was shot dead in Gulshan-i-Iqbal late Wednesday night.

The police said Mohammed Imran, aged 25, along with his friend Uzair, was coming out of the KFC Restaurant near NIPA when a car pulled up there and the occupants of the car opened fire on Imran from a close range. A bullet hit Imran in the chest. He died before he could be taken to hospital.

The police said at this stage it was difficult to tell anything about the motive behind the killing. However, a duty officer at the area police station was of the view that the killing might be the result of personal enmity.

DROWNS: Decomposed body of a man was fished out from the sea in the police limits of Docks on Thursday.

The police said the body was least eight-day old body. The man was in his mid-40s. He was identified as Mohammed Qasim. The body was found between berth Nos 3 and 4. It was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

DIES OF BURNS: A young man who had suffered burns died at Civil Hospital on Thursday.

The police said Master Aijaz, aged 20, had suffered burns while working in a factory at SITE more than a week back.
