Mourners to get medical aid

PESHAWAR, March 12: Arrangements have been made at the Lady Reading Hospital to provide aid to mourners on Ashura day, says a press release on Wednesday.

An emergency centre has been established at the basement of the LRH’s casualty department where they will be provided with medical cover on March 13 and 14. Doctors, nurses and paramedics will remain present round the clock to cope with any emergency.

Arrangements were reviewed at a meeting held with Dr Jalilur Rehman, the medical superintendent, in the chair. The meeting was told that ambulances, equipped with emergency treatment kits, would accompany the mourning processions to rush the injured to the hospital.

The hospital staff have been tasked to attend to the mourners with minor injuries on the spot. Only those needing stitches and injections will be shifted to the casualty ward.—Correspondent
