Three killed in road accident

SWABI, March 12: Three people were killed and nine seriously injured when a pick-up fell into a ravine in the mountainous belt of Gadoon on Tuesday evening.

Reports reaching here said that a pick-up (No 8014) was on its way to a far-flung mountainous region of Utla in Gadoon region. As it reached Bisak Mor, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and it fell into the ravine.

The injured, admitted in the District Headquarters Hospital Swabi told Dawn that it took quite some time for the people of nearby villages to reach the spot and bring the injured from very low altitude to the main road.

Some of the wounded suffered profuse bleeding as two hours had been lost before they could reach hospital.

Of the nine injured, five were stated to be in a serious condition.

They were being treated at GHQ Hospital Swabi and Civil Hospital Topi.

The names of the deceased are: Taza Gul, Mohammad Khan and Faqir Mohammad. They all belonged to Gadoon.
