HYDERABAD, March 12: The government should remove all anti- worker and anti-trade union clauses from the Industrial Relation Ordinance (IRO) 2002 and substitute them with proposals as had been agreed upon by both the employers and workers in their previous meeting.
The demand was tabled by leader of the Awami National Party and senator Asfandyar Wali Khan while talking with the party’s provincial chief and the secretary general of the Labour Federation of Pakistan, Qamoos Gul Khattak, over telephone.
In a press release, issued by the ANP, Sindh, Mr. Khan believed that absence of cordial ties between entrepreneurs and industrial workers would discourage investment in the country.
He assured them regarding debating the issue in the Senate.
