WASHINGTON, March 12: Police and FBI officials assured Muslim students at San Jose State University that they would protect them after a graffiti scrawled across the campus threatened to kill all Muslims.

The expletive-laden graffiti warned that Muslims had no place in America and all those in the campus will be shot dead.

The local Muslim students association immediately contacted the university administration and community leaders in San Jose and informed them of the threat.

In a message sent to Muslim students on campus, the university’s President Robert L. Caret said the San Jose State University Police Department is working with other local and federal law enforcement agencies to investigate these incidents. “If you see any similar messages, please call the university police immediately,” said the message.

The threats are just one of a series of anti-Muslim incidents across the country reported to the Council on American-Islamic Relations in the last few weeks.

Physical assaults against Muslims have been reported in Northern California, Southern California, Georgia, New Jersey, and South Carolina.

One incident in Yorba Linda, California, left a Muslim teenager badly beaten by a group that allegedly included white supremacists.
