LAHORE, March 8: Rangeela is improving, doctors treating the 60-year Comedy King at Sheikh Zayed Hospital claimed here on Saturday.

Rangeela, whose real name is Saeed Khan, was admitted to the hospital when his liver and kidney problems aggravated, and is being treated by a team of medical specialists and surgeons.

Doctors said a number of tests had been carried out on Rangeela.

“We have diagnosed the disease he is suffering from as pericardial effusion and have extracted a huge quantity of water from his lungs,” doctors told this agency at Al Nahyan Ward.

Farah Deeba, one of the eight daughters of Rangeela who was beside her father, told this reporter that the actor had got rid of oedema — which had been prevailing on his entire body — following extraction of water from his lungs.

The Parachanar-born comedian performed in more than 600 movies over four decades and later turned out to a successful producer-director. He also appeared as hero in box-office hits like Do Rangeelay.
