KARACHI, March 7: Six ships carrying chemicals, containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest owing to slow arrivals. As a result, four ships, Bunga Mastiga, Mar Challenger and Al-Manakah to unload and load containers and Sargodha to offload coal were berthed.

Sailing on the other hand was light as only one ship, Ceram Sea departed, while Koo Yong, Al-Manakah, Hugo Oldendorff, Bunga Mastiga, Oocl Xiamen and Mar Challenger are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling at the wharves was relatively slow owing to lesser handling of the liquid tonnage, falling to 59,581 tons comprising 16,968 tons of export cargo and 42,613 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Nur Yanbu, with chemicals, PONL Singapore, Med Taichung and Sima Bahar with containers, Thore Smalie and Bolan, with general cargo.
