CHARSADDA, Feb 27: The participants of a meeting held on Thursday at the district lodge, remained clueless to find a solution to control the congestion at the main Tehsil Bazar.
The meeting, presided over by Arshad Khan, a PPP (Sherpao) leader and MPA, was attended by representatives of shopkeepers, small vehicles like tonga, rickshaws drivers, vendors, transporters, traffic officials and representatives of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA).
Opening the discussion Arshad Khan first invited Ihsanullah Surki, president of the Shopkeepers Association to speak about the traffic problems.
Mr Ihsanullah said that as far as the shopkeepers community was concerned they had no problems, however Mr Sadiqullah, press secretary of the association interrupted him and said that due to traffic shops remain hidden from the customers.
DSP Kashmir Khan said that the offloading of vehicles in front of the shops also created congestion. The cause of the traffic jams were bus stands and the increasing number of push carts.
The transporters’ representatives said that the TMA was unable to provide them proper space for stands.
