Peaceful solution to Iraq issue backed

ISLAMABAD, Feb 27: Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has said the government desires that the UN weapon inspectors should be given more time to complete their investigations in Iraq.

“Pakistan doesn’t want war, but is desirous of a peaceful solution to the issue,” the foreign minister said while speaking to reporters during Senate elections at parliament building.

Speaking about the NAM’s moot, the minister said India faced great disappointment at the summit as it wanted to make some changes in the NAM’s aims and objectives, but most of the countries had opposed India’s designs.

Replying to a question, he said India wanted to prove freedom movement of Kashmir as terrorism, but it failed to do so.—Reporter
