KARACHI, Feb 25: Burundi trade delegation has shown keen interest in close cooperation in various fields of trade and industry, including textile, pharmaceuticals, food processing and agriculture products.

In a meeting with vice chairman Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Tariq Iqbal Puri here on Tuesday, the 11-member trade mission from Burundi expressed keen desire of strong trade ties between the two countries.

During the visit to the EPB’s display centre the leader of the team who is also the president of National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ndikumasabo Hermengilde appreciated the wide range and quality of products.

He said that Burundi can be a good potential market for Pakistani products, and stressed the need for close cooperation between the entrepreneurs of both the countries.

Ndikumasabo also hinted that there is a possibility of re-export of Pakistani products from Burundi to other regional countries, including Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda.

Vice chairman EPB speaking on the occasion said that the Bureau is focusing on African region as a future market for Pakistani products.

The delegates showed keen interest in buying wheat, fertilizer, sugar, pharmaceuticals, packaging material plants, polypropylene and jute bags.

The Burundi team will also hold meeting with exporters, manufacturers and trade bodies, including FPCCI and KCCI.
