KARACHI: Al-Falah DSP, SHO suspended

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 23: The deputy superintendent of police and the station house officer of Al-Falah police station have been placed under suspension for their failure in maintaining law and order in their jurisdiction.

A statement issued by the Sindh police on Sunday said that the provincial police chief, Syed Kamal Shah, had taken serious notice of the Al-Falah killings and suspended DSP Mohammad Aslam Khan and SHO Zafar Iqbal.

The IGP also constituted investigation teams to probe into the incident and find a clue to the suspects.

Sources in the police, however, said that no case had, so far, been registered at the Al-Falah police station against the killers of nine people outside Imambargah Muntazirul Mehdi in the Rifah-i-Aam Society on Saturday evening.

However, an FIR No 51/2003 has been allotted for registration of a case against the culprits, the sources added.
