LAHORE, Feb 22: The Lahore High Court on Saturday taking up a petition seeking registration of a case against land-grabbers observed that police could not be reformed without the removal of black sheep from the department.
The court observed that the police authorities should prepare lists of corrupt and inept officials for necessary action.
The court directed the Kasur SSP to take action against Khudian police officials who harassed petitioner Askari Begum and refused to register a case against the land-grabbers.
The petition filed by Nawab Ali Meo submitted that an influential person of the area had grabbed 18 kanals of his client through forged documents. The petitioner had approached the police who not only refused to register a case, but even harassed her to remain
silent.—APP
