Capital to get additional water

ISLAMABAD, Feb 20: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to increase water supply to the federal capital by about five million gallons of water per day.

According to the Water Supply Directorate sources, recent heavy rains raised the water level by 28 feet in Simly Dam. Current water level in the dam is 2,300 feet which is a record. The sources said water increased from 2,268 ft to 2,300 ft in just five days due to heavy downpour.

The sources said within two days, the supply would be increased from 50 mgd to 55 mgd. He added that after one week there would be an increase of another five million gallons in supply.—APP
