KARACHI, Feb 20: The Pakistan Steel Mills has taken a punitive action against one of its employee.

According to the notice issued in this regard, the employee Ahmad Jan’s wife purchased some goods on instalments, but has not been able to make regular payments and has resorted to threatening the shopkeeper she owes money to with the help of the police.

The notice further accuses the employee of keeping a dog in violation of the terms of his allotment. The notice says the management took punitive action against the employee by reducing his pay grade from PSE 1 (b) to PSE 1 (a). The demotion, translated into financial terms, is around Rs5,000 per month. The employee’s wife had purchased the goods on instalments to marry off their daughter.
