Study on taxpayers problems

KARACHI, Feb 20: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO), Justice Saleem Akhtar, has invited suggestions from the FPCCI for conducting studies on problematic issues confronting the taxpayers for possible solution through research and development as provided in the ordinance.

Talking to a delegation of the FPCCI, led by its president Riaz Tata, the FTO agreed that the business community was facing innumerable problems.

He said that his office was taking all possible measures for providing interim relief to the aggrieved parties. He said that about 80 per cent decisions, taken by the FTO, had been implemented.

Riaz Tata said that the tax judicial system should be separated from tax administration and same should be given under the control of judiciary.

He urged the FTO to make use of his office to suggest amendments in tax laws out of his wisdom, experience and conducting of cases.
