Robbers on the rampage

FAISALABAD, Feb 19: Dacoits and robbers remained on the rampage during the last 24 hours despite police pickets on all inter-city roads and highways.

They shot dead an elderly man, looted hundreds of thousands of rupees and gold ornaments, hijacked 7 motorcycle and 2 cars in 12 strikes in the district.

Dacoits shot dead elderly Abdul Hameed on resistance in Chak No. 219 RB, Ghulam Muhammadabad police said.

A gang of robbers took away Rs400,000 worth gold ornaments, Rs80,000 and other valuables from the house of trader Muhammad Sharif in Bawa Chak, Nishatabad police said.

Five masked men looted thousands of rupees, gold ornaments and other valuables from the house of Rana Muhammad Latif in Chak No. 202 RB, Nishatabad police said.

Robbers took away a car, thousands of rupees and wrist watches from Abbas, Shahid and Imran on Faisalabad-Jhang Road.

Jawed Akhtar was deprived of his car (No FDQ 5890) from Chibban area, Sargodha Road police said.

Two masked men took away the motorcycle (No FDR 1619) of Muhammad Sagheer from Faisalabad-Sheikhupura Road.

Three armed men took away the motorcycle (No FDY 9107) of shopkeeper Hameed Haider from Tariqabad.

Another two robbers snatched Rs5,000 from Muzammal Hussain and also took away his motorcycle from Canal Road.

Three masked men took away the motorcycle (No FDZ 5312) of trader Abdul Razzaq from Rajawala.

Another motorcycle (No FDQ 7147) of Amanullah was driven away from Factory Area.

Thieves took away the motorcycle of Taj Din from Batala Colony, while the two-wheeler of Muhammad Shafique from Railway Colony.
