ISLAMABAD, Feb 18: Information Technology Promotion Society (ITPS) president Munawar Iqbal has highlighted the need for setting up an IT university in the capital.
Speaking to the participants of a seminar “IT for the future of Pakistan”, the ITPS president said the proposed university would be benefit a large number of students seeking IT education.
He said private sector could play a vital role in the promotion of quality IT education. The ITPS has set an example by initiating work on the plan of IT university in collaboration with the private sector, he added.
Mr Iqbal said a private Pakistani company had provided the basic funds for the mega project, while other organizations were willing to join this venture.
“IT university in Islamabad will provide affordable and quality education and operate on a non-profit basis,” he said.
