Currency export

KARACHI, Feb 17: Forex Association of Pakistan, on Monday said that the State Bank has allowed money changers to export currencies up to March 15.

It offered its gratitude to the Governor State Bank Dr Ishrat Hussain for giving the permission to the money changers.

The State Bank had restricted the import of foreign currencies by the money changers except for dollars to encourage the formation of the licensed exchange companies.

As there were only two such companies, so the forex association feared that the decision would cause a serious crisis in the money market. It appealed to the State Bank to review its decision.—APP
