DADU, Feb 10: The construction work on the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar will be completed by next month.

This was said by the DCO, Dadu, Aijaz Mangi, at a meeting held in Sehwan on Saturday to review the pace of development work in the district.

Mr Mangi stressed the need for expediting the construction work on the shrine, saying that 95 per cent of the work had been completed.

The provincial secretary, Auqaf and Zakat, Faseehuddin Khan, said that the Musafir Khana for the visiting Zaireen, had been constructed.

The chief administrator of the provincial Auqaf department, Manzoor Hashmi, said that tenders for the second phase of construction work at the shrine’s Dhamal Court would be invited in March while work on the Golden Gate would be completed on time.

A team of the irrigation department, along with a police contingent, conducted raids along the Patoro waterway, originating from the Johi Barrage, and found signs of tampering on seven watercourses.

The waterways were sealed and nine farmers were arrested for stealing water.

The arrested farmers were identified as Sadiq Leghari, Ghulam Qadir, Sheral, Rehmat Ali, Riaz, Manzoor, Sikandar, Mohsin and Aachar.

SUSPENDED: The DPO, Dadu, Ali Akbar Bhangwar, here on Monday suspended four policemen — head constable Sikandar Khoso and constables, Imam Ali Channa, Nisar Brohi and Masoo Jalbani — on charges of negligence in duty.
