KARACHI: Kidnapped man returns home

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 9: A young businessman who was believed to have been kidnapped on Feb 6 returned home on Sunday, a senior police official said.

Danish Pervaiz, aged 25 and a resident of Amir Khusro Road, had gone to his poultry farm on Wednesday evening and on his way back was presumed to have been kidnapped by unknown persons somewhere near the farm, off the Superhighway, police said.

As Mr Danish did not return till midnight, the family started looking for him. His car (AAY-636) was found abandoned near Toll Plaza.

The SSP Investigation (Homicide), Manzoor Mughal, said that the businessman had told his family that he had been kidnapped and kept at a place in Hub, Balochistan, from where he managed to escape.

Mughal said the police and the representatives of the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee tried to seek information from Mr Danish about the kidnappers but the family said that he could not speak about the painful incident.

However, sources said the family had paid a handsome amount as a ransom for his release. A case was registered at the Gadap police station.
