KARACHI, Feb 7: Six vessels carrying container, gas oil and DAP fertilizer are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity on the wharves was relatively slow as only one container ship, Iron-D was berthed to unload and load containers after the departure of four.
The ships, which departed included Al-Mariyah, Hyundai Stride, Botany Triton and Babur Kaptan, while Torm Eastern, MOL Sincerity, PONL Malandi and Iron-D are due to sail out on Saturday.
Cargo handling activity on the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 59,623 tons comprising 14,496 tons of export cargo and 45,127 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Torm Margrethe, with 50,000 tons of gas oil, Wan Hai-301, Kota Tegap, Izumo and Jamila with containers and Steel Glory with 23,500 tons of DAP fertilizer.
KARACHI, Feb 7: Three ships carrying containers, edible and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container, Multi-purpose and Fotco Oil Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.
Meanwhile, another ship carrying chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.
Six ships, Msc Pamela, Francisca Schulte, S-Pioner, Fuji Hoshi, Devon and E-Trader were busy in loading/discharging containers, wheat and edible oil, furnace oil and iron ore respectively.
A cargo volume of 59,887 tons comprising 54,363 tons of import cargo and 5,524 tons of export cargo inclusive of cargo carried in 1,148 containers was handled.
Msc Pamela sailed out, while S-Pioner was expected to leave the port on Friday.
Selendang Permata was at the outer anchorage. Two ships, Qem Star and Mare Thrasium were expected to take berths at Engro Vopak Terminal and QICT.
