KHAIRPUR: Demo against police officials

KHAIRPUR, Feb 6: A large number of people, activists of shopkeepers’ associations, and social workers of Razidero, Gambat Taluka, held a demonstration for the second consecutive day on Thursday in protest against the law and order situation and highhandedness of police officials in the area.

They took out a rally from the Razidero Press Club to the Razidero petrol pump.

Speaking on the occasion, their leaders said that as many as 10 incidents of crime had been reported in a week from Razidero and its surrounding areas.

They also condemned the arrest of a journalist, Liaquat Jakhar.

They threatened to continue their protest till the law and order situation improved and the ASI, who arrested the journalist, was removed.

ORGANIZATIONS MERGED: At least 20 social welfare organizations were merged and formed a new organization called Bakh (Dawn) on Thursday.

Former district council convener Sher Mohammad Phulpoto has been elected as its founding chairman.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Phulpoto said that the organization would provide an ambulance service for the poor people of the area.
