KARACHI: Steps to curb crimes outlined

KARACHI, Feb 6: Sindh National Front chairman Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto said on Thursday that the debate on law and order in the Sindh Assembly had failed to produce any positive results as the problem was not complicated in nature.

The real issue was the inability of the police force to discharge its duties amicably and affectively, as instead of facing criminals and phasing them out, the police force was indulged in corruption and torture of innocent citizens.

“Solution of their problems lies in enhancing the remuneration of the police force, as from constables to inspectors, salaries be doubled while higher officers should give up the attitude of British officers and stop subjugating people”.

The DPOs or officers below him be held responsible for the crimes committed in their districts.

“If all efforts fail to bring down the crime graph, all concerned officers be dismissed which would serve as a deterrent and others would fulfil their assigned task”.—PPI
