SHIKARPUR, Feb 2: Three passengers of a wagon were kidnapped by six armed bandits on Garhi Yasin-Larkana road near Longani village on Saturday night.

The bandits intercepted the Larkana-bound wagon, carrying seven persons from Garhi Yasin, near Dakhan town and hijacked it at gunpoint.

They released four of the passengers and the wagon driver after covering some distance and took away Mohammad Yasin, Basheer Ahmad Soomro and Dilsher Lakhan.

The Dakhan police registered a case.

ARREST CONDEMNED: The Wapda Paigham Labour Union, Shikarpur division, in a resolution adopted at a meeting held here, condemned the arrest of union president Sirajuddin Saqib.

The union also demanded downsizing in Wapda should be stopped, the sacked employees should be reinstated, services of the contract workers should be regularized and Eid allowance and special allowance of Rs400 should be released.

The divisional president of the union, Sikandar Ali Lashari, presided over the meeting.
