Republicans remove anti-Muslim sticker

By Anwar Iqbal

WASHINGTON: America’s ruling Republican Party has removed anti-Muslim stickers being sold at a right-wing conference here on Friday.

The conference was inaugurated by Vice President Dick Cheney.

The bumper stickers had “virulently anti-Muslim text such as, “No Muslims — No Terrorism,” said the Council for American-Islamic Relations.

Another sticker offered for sale at the conference replaced the letter “s” in “Islam” with a Nazi swastika.

After both Muslim and other American civil rights groups complained to the organizers, the stickers were removed from the exhibition booths. But CAIR complained that these stickers were still being sold under-the-table.
