Toyota

TOKYO, Feb 1: A labour inspection office has ordered Japan’s top automaker Toyota Motor Corp. to pay allowances for overtime owed to some employees, a company spokesman said on Saturday.

It is true that we have been told to correct (the practice of not paying overtime), spokesman Shinya Matsumoto said, declining to give further details about the payments. Admitting it was not the first time that Toyota faced such an order, the official said the company took the matter seriously and had ordered division chiefs to make sure there was no unpaid overtime.—AFP
