KARACHI: Reckless driving claims two lives

KARACHI, Jan 31: Two young men died in a road accident in Gulzar-i-Hijri on Friday.

The police said Anis Ahmed, aged 18, and Asghar Ali, aged 20, were run over by a speeding vehicle while walking across the main Super Highway near Al-Asif Square.

Residents of Scout Colony, the two young men worked in an eating-house near Al Asif Square. They hailed from Punjab.

RECOVERED: The Anti-car Lifting Cell arrested five suspects in Orangi Town on Friday and recovered five motorcycles and three pistols from their possession.

The police said the suspects, Noman, Mohammed Anwar, Mohammed Tahir, Afzal and Mohammed Amber, were arrested in Orangi Town in a raid early Friday morning.

ARRESTED: The police arrested a suspect, Anisuddin alias Chunawala, on Friday and recovered six Kalashnikovs, an SMG, a repeater gun and 419 bullets from his possession. The police said Anisuddin was a former sector in charge of Lyari of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
