Two boys die in accidents

KARACHI, Jan 30: Two boys died in road accidents in the city on Thursday.

A 10-year-old boy died in a road accident in Ranchhor Line in the morning.

The police said Mohammed Kashif, a student of class IV, with his mother and sister, was on his way to New Ranchhor Line School when he suddenly ran on to the road and was knocked down by a speeding (CL-8193) school van.

The van driver, Mohammed Husain, took the injured boy to Civil Hospital where he died.

The police arrested the driver and impounded the van.

An eight-year-old boy was run over by a water tanker in Mominabad.

The police said Qadeerullah was knocked down by a speeding water tanker in Frontier Colony.

He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The tanker driver escaped.
