Fingerprinting: US team to discuss plan
RAWALPINDI, Jan 27: The government is planning to begin “finger printing” of foreigners coming to Pakistan to check the movement of terrorists and boost immigration control, official sources told Dawn on Monday.
The proposal to start finger printing would be taken up at a meeting being held in the interior ministry in Islamabad on Tuesday, the source said.
They added that a six-member US delegation, including the State Department and FBI officials, would hold a meeting with Pakistani authorities to chalk out modalities of counter-terrorism programme which would cost $13 million.
The US delegation comprises Robert Boyke, Calvin Boissot, Paul Shannon from FBI, Chuck Riley, the legal attache, Ms Brooke Darby and Gerald Heutt.
