KARACHI, Jan 27: The hearing of a sectarian killing case against the self- styled chief of the Lashkar-i-Jhangvi and two others was put off on Monday as the jail authorities failed to produce the accused in the court despite the fact that the trial is being conducted on the premises of the Central Prison.
Judge Khan Pervaiz Chang of the ATC-2 issued show-cause notice to the jail superintendent for his failure to produce the accused in the court. He fixed Jan 29 for the next hearing of the case.
The case against Akram Lahori, Mohammed Azam and Ataullah pertained to the killing of Agha Abbas, owner of a juice shop, on May 25 last year at Nazimabad No 1 in the police limits of Rizvia Society.
The provincial authorities had on Aug 13 last year notified the jail trial of all sectarian and terrorism cases against the interned leaders and workers of the banned religious outfits.
