KARACHI, Jan 27: The Sindh education department has named another five towns of Karachi and 30 talukas of Sindh where the compulsory primary education ordinance will be implemented in the second phase commencing on April 1.

According to a government notification, it would be obligatory for all parents or guardians and employers to ensure that all children in the age group of 5 to 11 years are admitted to schools.

Those failing to send their children to schools would be fined Rs50.

In the first phase, which was effected on April 1, 2002, the five towns and 18 talukas had been named for the implementation of the primary education ordinance.

The newly selected towns and talukas are: Liaquatabad, Baldia, Keamari, New Karachi and Landhi towns in Karachi.

Badin: Badin and Talhar; Dadu: Mahar and Sehwan; Ghotki: Ubaro and Khangarh; Hyderabad: Tando Mohammad Khan and Matiari; Jacobabad: Kandh Kot and Thul; Khairpur Mirs: Kingri and Gambat; Larkana: Larkana and Dokri;

Mirpurkhas: Kot Ghulam Mohammad Khan and Umerkot; Mithi: Mithi and Diplo; Naushahro Feroze: Bhiria and Kandiaro; Nawabshah: Nawabshah and Daulatpur; Sanghar: Shahdadpur and Sinjhoro; Shikarpur: Shikarpur and Garhi Yasin; Sukkur: Panu Aqil and Saleh Pat; Thatta: Mirpur Bathoro and Mirpur Sakro.
